ProtoHack Family,

I’m writing you to today to share with you that after four incredible years together, the ProtoHack team is moving on…

With more than 10,000 community members, 100+ events in 20+ cities across 12+ countries worldwide – this has been an incredible journey. Thank YOU for making our time together one that we will never forget.

It’s been our pleasure bringing innovation and entrepreneurship to non-techies and techies alike from San Francisco (where we started) to Vancouver (where we currently call home) and to places we never could’ve imagined going: New Delhi, Sao Paulo, Istanbul, and Milan.

While we’re no longer running hackathons, we’re so excited to share with you that our experience with ProtoHack has inspired us to build something of our own. We’d like to introduce to you our startup: QUP.

QUP is creating economic access for students globally by gamifying fundraising. We’re making it possible for students to fundraise beyond their community – so that they can do the things that they love. The best part? Our daily game also teaches students about creativity, innovation, and problem solving… without code 😝

If you’d like to learn more about QUP, visit our website:

Thank you again for the memories, the ideas, and the love.

Yours truly,

Annee Ngo
